UW-Oshkosh placed three runners among the top 28 finishes during its season-opening performance at the Midwest Women s Cross Country Open held Saturday in Somers.

The WIAC chose UW-Oshkosh's Cheyenne Moore as its Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for meets held Sept. 5-11.

Defending champion UW-Oshkosh begins its quest for a repeat of last year s WIAC women's cross country title at the Midwest Open on Sept. 10 in Somers.

The WIAC recognized 241 UW-Oshkosh student-athletes for achieving a 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) or higher during the 2015-16 academic year.

Fueled by four second-place finishes, UW-Oshkosh claimed the WIAC Women s All-Sports Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recognized the UW-Oshkosh women s cross country program for its performance in the classroom during the 2015 season.
