Taylor Smashes School Record At NCAA RegionalPublished by
Samia Taylor broke the school record in long jump and just missed a berth to the NCAA Championships to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee track & field teams at the NCAA West Regional Championships in Austin, Texas Thursday.Taylor posted an outstanding leap of 20-1 1/2 (6.13m) to shatter the school record of 19-9 1/2 (6.03m) set by Jenni Parish set back in 2006. Taylor finished 16th in the preliminary rounds to advance to the evening finals and just missed a trip to the NCAA Championships with a 16th place finish overall, a huge jump from her 35th-place ranking coming into the event.
